It takes most men and women five years to recover from a college education, and think of it as the ticket to the good life. The Lawyers, Medical Doctors and the Doctors of Philosophy takes 4-5 years more including those in theology.
But whence then cometh wisdom? Well, the Scripture says, it can never be found in the land of the living.
Job 28:12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
Job 28:13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.
Neither it can be found from the deep of waters or from the sea and is hidden from the eyes of the birds in the air.
Job 28:14 The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.
Job 28:21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
Where then is the wisdom from the land of the living cometh?
Jas 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
Jas 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
So that when you hear a man boastfully speak of his own, his wisdom is definitely not coming from above.
1 Cor 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?
TO GOD BE THE GLORY! 🙂
