Gratitude

One commandment of God is to honor our father and mother.

Matthew 19:19 Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

There is also one commandment that when not taking consideration as to it’s deepest meaning, will be interpreted as leaving the parents or mandatory vacating the house after marriage.

Ephesians 5:31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

Ephesians 5:32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.

Ephesians 5:33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

What if your parents are too old and incapable of doing things in order for them to continue living? If being with them is not so much of a problem then why leave or take them to the home for the aged?

Matthew 10:36 And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.

Matthew 10:37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Latter verse refers on who to love between God and man not the love of man to man. For being godly is to carry our cross. Godly is to love an enemy and parents and siblings are not enemies. Parents took care of us when we can’t do anything but to cry, drink milk and shit (poop). The situation reverses and we let other people take care of them? Where is good conscience and gratitude?
