Ang Dating Daan (Tagalog for The Old Path) is a religious radio and television program in the Philippines produced by the Members of the Church of God International. It is primarily hosted by Bro. Eli Soriano. In Portugal and Brazil, it is broadcast as O Caminho Antigo which is a direct translation for The Old Path. In Latin America, it is broadcast as El Camino Antiguo which is also a direct translation of the English name. Selected episodes of the program can also be viewed on the Internet through the Members Church of God International websites and on YouTube. It has been recognized as one of the longest-running religious programs in the Philippines.

I became member of this organization after baptism last March 2004 after 2 years of listening to their program. Thanks to Pete “Isko” Salvador of the Ang Dating Doon, a comedy TV series where I became curious of what the program is replicating. I was actually mesmerized by the word BASA or in english READ ON! It took me 2 years listening before joining the congregation because I am hesitant at first. I assume and presume that the answers are scripted until I myself asked question by calling from home. 

For 50 years of being a member of Catholic church since birth, I can compare that the teachings I’ve learned here reformed me to be a better person. Knowing the word of God really is a deterrent to transgress or walk a life contrary to God. Truly, the Ang Dating Daan is the right path recommended by God that we should walk into where we can find rest of our soul.

Jer 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk in it, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it.

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock over which the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Narrow is the gate that leads to life when the desires of the flesh was cherished more than the will of God. The Old Path is the only good way suggested where I should walk till the last breath of my life.  It teaches me how I do business, how I treat others, what to wear and eat, where I should not go and many more do’s and don’ts, the reason why many will not walk into it. Instead, they want the comfort the earth can give not knowing that the real comfort is in eternity. It is also the path walked into by the Apostles and members of the Church of God during the early Christian dispensation.
